Valeria (Leah) Poltorak is a biophysicist and molecular biologist. She received her Master’s degree in biophysics from Tbilisi State University in Georgia and completed coursework and dissertation for Ph.D. (all but defended) at the Moscow State University and Moscow Institute for Virology. After immigrating to the U.S., she did research in molecular biology for the Rockefeller University in New York. She served as President of a genetics company, Ryogen LLC. She is a frequent speaker on the topics of biology, bioethics and Torah. Her article, Talmudic Embryology – Curious Insight of the Jewish Sages, was published by B’Ohr HaTorah. Leah is a mother of five.
